Reese & Rowan

These girls… I have no words. So cute and so fun! I LOVED the laid back morning and just being able to take pictures of Reese and Rowan being themselves. The contrast between the two sisters- skateboarding and agility vs. tu-tus and dolls- they are so different, but so supportive of each other. Rowan had no problem hanging at the skate park with her doll, and Reese was totally willing to include “Milania” by pushing her on her skateboard. These photos are some of my favorites.

Tracy, Heather, Avery & Jackson

Heather and I met when Avery and Cannon were babies. Although the kids haven’t been in school together for a few years, we still get our families together and try to meet up for drinks when we can. I’m so lucky to have met so many wonderful people through my children. It seems I write a lot about how much people mean to me, but Heather and Tracy are no exception. They (and their families) have always welcomed my family so warmly. Get togethers with their extended family and friends are always easy and fun and end with hugs all the way around. (My husband wants me to mention here that they are also New England’ers who like the Patriots and Red Sox, which makes them even more awesome…) (Okay. I mentioned it. Although it won’t make me very popular in the Maryland area…:))

Avery is bright and friendly and kind and smart, and a sweet mix of delicate and silly. Since she was a baby, I was enamored with her porcelain skin, dark hair and light blue-green eyes. She smiles so easily, but even her serious faces are striking. She is a great artist and I learned on photo day that she has been writing books!

Jackson is such a sweet guy who naturally flirts with the camera. As soon as a I’d raise the lens, his face would break into this deep, charming smile with a giant dimple (regardless of how bored he was seconds before). When looking around Jackson’s sports themed bedroom I asked him what his favorite thing was in his whole room. He walked over to his bookshelf, stuffed his hands in his pockets and said, “all of my books”.

While Heather and Tracy finished getting ready for photos, I snuck into the kids’ rooms and caught them reading. (I was admittedly jealous of the calm and quiet in the house!)

Love you guys! – Danielle

Jaime + Termaine

I have to be honest here. I cried editing these photos. Jaime and Termaine are so loving and beautiful – my emotions got the better of me. A lot.

Let me back up a little. I met Jaime sometime around the time her oldest brother married my sister in 2005. She also worked at my sons’ school and babysat my guys. Although we aren’t “officially” related, I refer to her as my sister-in-law… sometimes because it’s easier, but mostly because she actually feels like a sister-in-law to me. She is gorgeous and funny and I just really love this girl.

I met Termaine at Jaime’s sister Amber’s wedding earlier this year, but didn’t know him very well before we did photos. Really meeting him on this day, for these photos, observing how loving and affectionate he is with Jaime, noticing how easy they are with each other… it was so overwhelming in such a happy, peaceful way. They are expecting their son next month, and are busy making plans and getting ready. I know Jaime will sink easily into being a mom because I watched her with my boys plenty of times. I also know that Termaine is going to take good care of her. And their baby. And I am so unbelievably happy for my sort-of-sister-in-law.

Congratulations Jaime and Termaine! I can’t wait to meet Brayden! Love you guys!

Jeff, Jennifer, & Josephine VanH

This site has been severely neglected over the past few months, so I have some major catching up to do.

I can’t wait to show you the amazing baby Josie. The prettiest, sweetest, little girl baby. Jeff and Jen are such cool, calm new parents. We walked around a downtown DC city park and the day was so relaxing. Josie was easygoing and happy, and Jeff and Jen were so attentive, calm and tender with Josie. They are natural parents, and made a beautiful family!

I love this fuzzy little head. Look!

I heard Jeff sometimes has a hard time being serious in photos. I really don’t believe it though. I think he just has an inner Super Hero desperately trying to escape. The lost Avenger…

Oh, the smiles on this girl. She saves them for her mom and dad.

I love how their eyes laugh when they look at each other.

Jen literally glows with motherhood. She is stunning. Gorgeous.

I mean, this. Sleepy baby on your neck. It really never gets any better than this.

Auntie Quinn did it. She made it happen. (But Aunt Quinn also made it better, I promise.)

All smiles for Daddy.

The eyes.

I’m telling you. Super Hero. Dying to escape… Smolder, Jeff. Smolder.

Bonus photo: Jen and Quinn. sisters.

Denise Danielle, I’ve always loved your photos, but these are particularly fabulous.

I owe you for other good things, too. Hope to see you soon.

The Tiller Family.

I was able to catch up with Gina and Steve a few weekends ago (on their anniversary!), and we grabbed some great family photos. The twins will be three in two months, and Gina loves how much Aaron helps to look after them. Aaron is as animated as ever (just older) and Vivienne is either getting more used to seeing me every now and then, or else she is really becoming so confident. She is silly and laughs big and looks at Aaron with adoration and pure joy. Milo is quietly observant, only hinting at a flirtatious smile after I work for it. He likes his trucks, and watching him roll them on the floor made me wish I could really see the world from his view.

It seems that family fall photos aren’t complete unless someone is diving into a pile of leaves. On this day, the Tiller leaf pile was massive, and EVERYONE dived in!! We managed to wrap it up with only one bloody nose and zero grass stains! Success! if you ask me!!
